Mr Freedom Vs Jimi Tenor

Posted: February 15th, 2006 | Author: | Filed under: Film, Music | No Comments »

Rescoring cult classic movies is becoming the performance piece of the every hip artist these days…but when its done right it can be genius. I was pretty excited to see that Jimi Tenor is rescoring William Kliens – ‘Mr. Freedom‘. This is worth going to just for the film itself. Its a satire, it has a superhero dressed as a american football player…and its french! Oh yeah and the master Serge Gainsbourg originally scored it and he also pops up as mr drugstore…oh yes!

The showing is at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on Friday 24 March 2006, 7:45 pm.

Watch the goodness

Many of you know I love all things retro and synthy so I was knocked out by this amazing site – http://www.miniorgan.com/

A whole slew of gorgeous and downright bizarro music making machinery!

Â

I found it by searching for ‘sermad’ in google and clicking on similar pages. Crazy yet cool.

The ninjatune artist – Loka has a competition for any budding video makers. I love the music these guys produce…so possibly I might try and rope somebody into helping me out with it.

The launch for the library book is at the hat on wall bar on October 26th. Everyone that helped contribute to the book is spinning for half an hour – thats me, trunk records, cherrystones, jerry dammers and probably many more people.

    It’s going to be dope!

It was the monthly london vinyl get together last night and it was a really really good night. We moved to Filthy McNasty’s down the road as the usual venue was shut. Anyways…Jonny Trunk came down and he brought us the very first copy of his library cover book to show!

All I can say is just…WOW. It is just amazingly beautiful and I cannot wait to get my own copy. I was dead chuffed to see quite of few of the my own covers make it into the final book.
