Experience matters – schyouknowwho

The Schweppes – Experience Matters campaign has been running for a few weeks now and was intrigued to see a banner ad for the campaign – The call to action was clear – see more comics at schyouknowwho.com. Sure I thought – I might actually understand what this campaign is about if I visit an experience.

I arrive at what looks like a wordpress blog – with two images. Thats it. Was I expecting an all singing all dancing experience? Not really – But I was expecting to ‘see more comics’ or at least have some level of engagement.

All that media money spent on banner advertising to get me to see two press ads – Not a great user experience in my opinion. I would be really interesting to know if the digital agency (?) or the advertising agency agreed to this strategy.

Hi Sermad. I just saw this online ad and was totally disappointed as you were when you clicked through to the blog (which I agree, didn't really make sense with the call to action being 'Share this').

I was curious who did it as well (it wasn't glue) so did a search and came across your blog! Ha ha. I suspect the digital work might have been created by Mother as well.

It's a really nice campaign, I love the idea and the fact that they're doing one every 2 weeks for the next year. But sadly a total let down online. I would have died to have worked on this! They could have done so much more. And yet all that was accomplished was was a zoom-out on the poster and a 'blog' with nothing but (wait for it...) more posters.

Maybe there's something more to come? I hope so.

Hey Lisa - Great you spotted this - Actually I think it was Anorak who did the work. I would love to know if the campaign is going to be extended further online.

Hm that makes sense I suppose. I wish they would have given the brief to glue though! I imagine once that blog is filled with 100 posters it'll be a bit better. But the online ads still are a bit uninspiring.

Ha ha, oh well. Hope you're doing great dude.
